Firewood Questions Tips

Canberra Firewood

How much firewood will I need in winter? 3 - 4 tonne

Very common question, people who use Firewood as the main source of heating lighting the fire 5 to 7 nights a week will use around 4 tonne per year.

People using Firewood just on odd nights or as a weekend luxury might only use 1 to 2 tonne for the year.

The total amount needed comes down to how warm you like the house inside and if you have the fire going day and night all week or just week ends.

If you expect to use the fire for the majority of your heating four plus nights a week.

We recommend starting with 3-4 tonne, if you run out early you can always top up with more, if you have wood left over you now have a head start for start of next season.
